Daniel Agger: I understand our fans were away, 17th April 2016

Copenhagen: There used to be a deafening atmosphere among Brøndbys accompanying fans, but it was not in Sunday's 0-2 defeat to FC Copenhagen at Parken.

They had chosen to stay away from Sunday's derby in the Super League because of restrictions and the inability to make tifoer and tray Brøndby up.

Brøndby-stopper Daniel Agger understands and respects the fans' decision, and he will not use the lack of support on the battens as an excuse for defeat.

"Of course it is always nice to have support. When we are away, so it feels like a home. It's a luxury you as Brøndby player, and it was a little different today. But it is not something that should take any percent of our performance at all, "said Agger.

"You have to deal with the things that are decided. And we must accept them. We fully understand our fans. We understand and accept that they did not show up. They are always 100 percent behind us. And it is something that we are grateful and proud that we are in a club where the fans always backing us 100 percent up no matter where in Denmark, we all fly. And so it will also be on Wednesday, "he said.

Agger refers to Wednesday's return match in the semifinals against FC Copenhagen, where Brøndby have the opportunity to get a quick rematch.

"Given that we can play us in a cup final, so it becomes one of the most important games of the season. We all want to be there. We all play a cup final. We all want to get there. But it requires a result on Wednesday, and we need to focus on, "said Agger.

Brøndby played 1-1 in the first pokalsemifinale, and it is a good starting point, according to the Danish national team captain.

"An away goals is always good. But it is a match, and we are going to win it, "says Agger.

He will not see a repeat of Sunday's performance, which was below level.
