Copenhagen - Denmark coach Morten Olsen has shaken up his squad for next week's friendly against Germany with a third of the players nominated not part of the squad he selected for the World Cup finals.

The tune-up on Wednesday is part of Denmark's preparations for the Euro 2012 qualifiers, and offers Olsen a chance to test some new players since some of his regulars are injured or have not played much in their teams.

Danish team Sonderjyske's midfielder Johnny Thomsen could therefore make his debut for Denmark. The midfield includes Michael Silberbauer of FC Utrecht, who was dropped from the squad that travelled to the World Cup in South Africa.

Players with Bundesliga experience missing out on the Germany friendly were Daniel Jensen of Werder Bremen, VfL Wolfsburg's Thomas Kahlenberg, as well as MSV Duisburg forward Soren Larsen.

Olsen also did not include Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner or Feyenoord veteran Jon Dahl Tomasson. This offers an opportunity for forwards who play for Dutch sides. Mads Junker of Roda JC has one brief appearance for Denmark, FC Groningen's untested Nicklas Pedersen, while Lasse Schone of NEC Nijmegen who has recovered from a knee injury could make a comeback.

The 20-strong squad named for the Germany match included 13 players that travelled to South Africa.

Seasoned forward Dennis Rommedahl, now with Greek side Olympiakos, could get his 100th cap for Denmark if Olsen opts to start him.

Looking back at the World Cup where Denmark failed to qualify from the group stage, Olsen said it was "disappointing".

"At a World Cup, players have to be on form for three, four weeks. We weren't," the veteran coach recently observed.

Players that were in the World Cup squad that Olsen has called up again include Stoke City's goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen, defenders Lars Jacobsen of Blackburn Rovers, Wolfsburg's Simon Kjaer, Liverpool's Daniel Agger, Fiorentina's Per Kroldrup, and Simon Poulsen of AZ Alkmaar.

The midfield includes Christian Poulsen of Juventus who is reported to be negotiating a transfer to Liverpool, according to Danish media reports.
